چکیده
The insulin-sensitizing effect of adiponectin (1–4) is mediated via adiponectin receptors (AdipoR1 and AdipoR2) (5). AdipoR1 is abundantly expressed in skeletal muscle, whereas AdipoR2 is also expressed in the liver, with lower levels of expression in skeletal muscle (5). Both receptors are expressed in adipose tissue (6) and pancreatic -cells (7). It has been shown recently that expression of AdipoRs in human skeletal muscle is correlated with insulin sensitivity (8). Because central obesity is associated with insulin resistance, we have undertaken detailed measurements of body fatness with bioimpedance, dualenergy X-ray absorbtiometry (DEXA), and five-slice magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) through the abdomen. We have determined whether expression of AdipoRs was associated with body fatness and in particular with measures of central obesity.

Relationship between Daily Step Counts with Anthropometric Risk Factors of the Cardiovascular System in Hamadanian Middle Aged Men
Introduction & Objective: Physical activity (PA) is inversely associated with obesity but the effect has been difficult to quantify using questionnaires. Pedometers provide an opportunity to better characterize the association. The aim of present study was to examine the relationship between pedometer-determined PA (steps/day) and anthropometric risk factors of the cardiovascular system (CVS)...
متن کاملAdiponectin concentration is associated with muscle insulin sensitivity, AMPK phosphorylation, and ceramide content in skeletal muscles of men but not women.
Adiponectin is an adipokine that regulates metabolism and increases insulin sensitivity. Mechanisms behind this insulin-sensitizing effect have been investigated in rodents, but little is known in humans, especially in skeletal muscle. Women have higher serum concentrations of adiponectin than men and are generally more insulin sensitive in skeletal muscle than men. We show here that large diff...
متن کاملUrsolic Acid Improve Skeletal Muscle Hypertrophy by Increasing of PAX7, Myod and Myogenin Expression and Satellite Cells Proliferation in Native Broiler Chickens
Ursolic acid (UA) is known as a naturally occurring triterpene pentacyclic compound in some medicinal herbs including savory that affects the skeletal muscle. In the current study, the effect of UA was evaluated on C2C12 cells and satellite cells (SCs) isolated from native broiler chicks. First in the in vitro experiment, the C2C12 cell line obtained from the Stem Cell Technology Research Cente...
متن کاملThe Effect of Four weeks Exercise in water on the Disability, Flexibility, and Strength of Spinal Muscle in Middle-aged Men with Non-specific Chronic Low Back Pain
Abstract Background & Objective: Non-specific chronic low back pain is the most common type of chronic low back pain in today's society and achieving a therapeutic exercise program has always been the focus of improvement in patients with non-specific chronic low back pain. The current study aims at investigating the effects of 4 weeks exercise in the water on the disability, flexibility, and...
متن کاملThe effect of 12 weeks of aerobic-resistance training and Green tea supplementation on the levels of irisin and interleukin6 of overweight middle-aged men
Background: With the advancement of technology in the 21st century and the decline of physical activity, obesity has become widespread. In developing countries, the prevalence of obesity is increasing day by day and people at a younger age suffer from obesity. The World Health Organization estimates that there are over one billion overweight adults in the world (body mass index above 27 (kg / ...
